Pottery Half Day Workshops

The half day workshop is similar to the Full day workshop, except we will concentrate on making one item.

Cost: £70.00 per person*  for 2-4 people.

Cost for one person: £80.00*

When: Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.

*A non refundable deposit of £20.00 per person is required to reserve and book your session.

This is a private session for you and your friends, and runs on Mondays, Tuesdays or Saturdays. The  date is worked out to suit you, availability permitting.

If you would like to have a go at making functional objects out of clay, and don’t want to commit to a weekly course, then this could be right up your alley.

This workshop is designed as a one off session, or as a foundation to attend one of my weekly sessions.

Depending on what you choose to make, I will show you the techniques used to hand build, which may including pinching, coiling and working with slabs, and you will make your very own wares.

You will receive

-Tuition and demonstration.
-Your own stoneware clay.
-The use of my studio and equipment.
-Tools and textures to experiment with.
-Decorating slips, underglaze and choice of glaze.
-Glazing and firing service
-The option to have a go on the potters wheel.
-You can choose what to make, I have plenty of samples and a catalogue of inspirational ideas to help you to make your very own functional wares.

By the end of the session

You will have learnt hand building techniques and will have produced your own pot.

You can make more pieces, but you will be charged extra to cover materials and firing costs. This cost is worked out by weight and/or size. This charge also includes any pots you make on the wheel and want to keep.

This session will give you the foundation for you to continue to make pottery.

You can choose a glaze from my collection, or a clear glaze to enhance your decorated pieces.

An additional glazing session is offered for you to come back and glaze your own pots. You will have larger choices of glazes to choose from, and can be more creative with your application. Glaze session £25 per person, and is for 1-2 hours.

I will then glaze and fire your work for you. Each piece is bisque fired in my kiln, glazed and fired again, to a temperature of around 1220 degrees centigrade.

Once your work is ready, ( 4-6 weeks) I will contact you and we can arrange collection from my studio. Or we can arrange delivery, and this will be charged separately.
