Throwing Experience

This is a private experience session, where you will have the chance to have a go on a potters wheel. It can either be just for fun or to see if it is something that you might like continue with.

Cost: £75.00 per person*  for 2 -4 people.

Cost for one person: £80.00*

A non refundable deposit of £20.00 per person is required to reserve and book your session.

When: Sundays and Tuesdays (daytime)

I will demonstrate throwing a pot on the wheel, and then it’s your turn. You will have full use of the wheel for the rest of the session and I will be on hand to help.

I have two wheels, so you can bring a friend.

     You will receive

• A 2 hour session
• Tuition and demonstrations.
• Your own stoneware clay.
• The use of my pottery wheel and equipment.
• A choice of glaze (that I apply for you).
• Glazing and firing service

By the end of the session

• You will have learnt techniques to centre the clay, and to throw a pot on the wheel.
• You will choose you best three pots to be fired.
• You will be having fun!

You will choose your three best pieces to keep. You can keep more pieces, but you will be charged extra to cover materials and firing costs. This cost is worked out by weight and/or size.

You can choose a glaze from my collection. Once your work has dried I will fire your pieces in my kiln. I will then  glaze your work for you and fire it again to a mid stoneware temperature.

I offer an additional glazing session where you can come back and glaze your own work. You will have a wider choice of glaze colours to choose from, and can be more creative in your application. The cost of this session is £25 per person and lasts up to 2 hours.

 Once your work is ready ( 4-6 weeks),  I will contact you and we can arrange collection from my studio, or I can arrange postal delivery, this will have an additional charge.
